Hamidia Girls' School was founded on 4 May  1932 by  Begum Khursheed Khwaja, a well-known enlightened woman who felt the plight of uneducated Muslim women in the city of Allahabad. She was the daughter of Nawab Sir Buland Jang Hamid Ullah Khan, former Chief Justice of Nawab Hyderabad, and son-in-law of Khwaja Mohd. Yusuf, an eminent person of Aligarh and also a partner of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan,  was his group Khwaja Abdul Majeed Bar At Aaw. Begum Khursheed Khwaja established the school in the heart of the city in the house of Dr. Syed Ali Zaid in Pathar Gali Shahganj. He chose the name HAMIDIA after the name of his father Hamidulla Khan 

At first, he faced unsuccessful challenges, but a group of wame came to support him. Two gentle ladies were responsible for teaching and met all the expenses themselves, they were Mrs. Shamshudduha Zaidi and Mrs. Madho Lal. They served the institution for a long time and Miss D. Bewen remained the principal from July 1932 to July 1935. Shortly after the formation of the Hamidia Girls School Management Committee. Begum Khursheed Khwaja became the first director.

Library 

The library of Hamidia Girls' Degree College has seen various stages of development since its inception. The library was founded as a small library that grew over time. Currently, the library has approximately 18,000 books. Apart from this, the library also has a good collection of reference books, gift books, reference books, and some rare books to serve the additional needs of the faculty, students, and other staff of the college. In addition, the library has a special newspaper reading area where students can read newspapers and magazines ordered by the library. The library is working positively through modernization and therefore the library software has been updated from time to time, computers have been added, books have been digitized and subscription to databases such as NLIST has been launched. 

Media Lab 

The college has a well-equipped sound system Media Lab for journalism and mass communication students with ancillary facilities, a production control editing suite with VTR mixing software for editing, a dressing room, and a program recording room. The media laboratory fulfills all the requirements and possibilities of students related to electronic media. 

Computer class 

A well-equipped computer lab gives students free access to computer typing and web searching. Practical classes of vocational subjects are organized here - office management and secretarial exercises, social science computer application, DCA, and CCC. It is also the central composition unit of the college (Hindi, Urdu, and English). 

Meeting place 

A multipurpose conference room that can accommodate 50 people. It is equipped with the latest furniture, PAS (Public Address System), smart room mode, and a CCTV camera.
